Our shields are designed to meet the following industry standards for ballistic protection. Those standards are:

The Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 752 Standard outlines testing criteria for bullet-resistant materials and assemblies, such as windows, doors, and barriers. This standard defines multiple protection levels, each corresponding to specific firearm calibers and ammunition types.

Below is a summary of UL 752 protection levels and their associated ammunition specifications:

Each level specifies the type of ammunition, bullet weight (in grains), required bullet velocity (in feet per second), distance, and the number of shots the material must withstand without penetration. These standards ensure that materials provide adequate protection against specific ballistic threats.

What Does This Mean?

These ratings indicate that our shields comply with industry standards for ballistic resistance. The materials have been tested to ensure they can withstand multiple rounds without penetration. Specifically, per the UL standard, they have been tested to resist five rounds of the following:

  • 5.56mm Rifle Full Metal Copper Jacket with Lead Core (.223 caliber)
  • 5.56mm Rifle Full Metal Copper Jacket with Steel Core Penetrator Round (.223 caliber)
  • 7.62mm Rifle Lead Core Full Metal Copper Jacket

Note: All testing performed by 3rd party.
